Very common in Slovenia. It inhabits almost every clean and clear stream, alpine and chalk.

Largest freshwater European salmonid. Hard to catch, large and powerful. Intense fly fishing experience.
GRAYLING
The lady of the stream, very common in Slovenia. 40 cm is average, 50 cm is trophy. Dry fly and nymph are best.
About fly fishing in Slovenia
Slovenia is a beautiful Alpine and Karst country in the heart of Europe. The location and geographical diversity are key to wonderful and picturesque streams, from small brooks to medium sized rivers and large torrents.
Slovenian streams are inhabited by various fish species that are interesting for fly fishing. Probably the most interesting are: marble trout, brown trout, huchen, grayling (Danube and Adriatic), rainbow trout and pike.
